Why Come Out of the Closet: Flirting with the idea of embarking on your own Cougar Escapades?

There are plenty of older women who find themselves whilst dating younger men.  It’s as though they’ve been swimming in the wrong waters and it’s been pulling their spirits down. It’s not until they give themselves permission to trust their own inner sensibilities that they are able to be free to explore their desires.

Not that cougar dating always runs smooth, especially if one has experienced disappointment or betrayal (in other words, just like most of the adult population who has ventured into relationships) and is somewhat inclined to bump into heaps of emotional baggage along the way to self liberation.

Here’s the curious thing about cougar dating – it’s not passing time as many older men think, it’s a swooping passion akin to first love (something that they may longer experience unless it’s with a much younger woman).  It seems all the more precious when one knows the meaning of loss. That doesn’t necessarily mean that modern cougar women are needy (although what is neediness, other than a longing of unfilled desire), but it does however stop them from taking things for granted.

With cougar dating comes risk; the stakes seem to be higher when you are old enough to know the consequences of your actions. There are other benefits to being older, and hopefully much the wiser: is the inescapable consequence of facing up to yourself.  For it’s at these personal crossroads where one is forced to learn from the mishaps and mistakes of youth, as well as its untamed pleasures, and then take heart in discovering life-changing episodes during one’s thirties and forties which can be a catalyst to finding a truer self identity.

Life can be far too short. So when you find what makes your spirit dance and your heart sing, you mustn’t be scared of it.  To fear your desires is to fear life. And when you fear life, you’re already three parts dead.

Here’s the 2nd installment of Maree’s Cougar Diary….

Another surprise whilst I was up on the gold coast was that I met an 81 year old COUGAR.  That’s right you heard it.  I went out walking very early one morning towards surfers and had lost my way and asked for directions from this very elegant lady.  We started talking and she told me that she was on her was to the casino to meet her man.  I asked her how old he was.  She started to laugh uncontrollably and whispered in my ear “he’s only 51”.   My mouth dropped to my feet.  I gave her the biggest hug and said to her “You’re a COUGAR”… she giggled cheekily and said “yes I am”.  I told her that I am also a COUGAR. We had the best conversation and best giggles and laughs.  She also mentioned that back in her time, that it was a sin to be a COUGAR, but today she’s letting it all hang out.  WOW!!  I asked her why she didn’t date men her age.  She said that they were all very boring and ‘not great in bed’.   Just love her attitude and her love of her life and her freedom to do and be who she wants without judgements.  As we were crossing the road, she grabbed my arm and leaned in and said to me… “don’t ever let other’s judge you…because it is their own stupidity that stops them from embracing their own life the way it’s meant to be…they’re just jealous”.

That same morning I also met up with another friend of mine who lives on the gold coast and works as a stripper.  I popped into his place for a coffee.  We chatted for a while.  And he again said to me, that the younger boys all say the same thing.  That COUGARS are so much easier to talk to.  We have no hang ups.  We are in control of our wants and needs.  And the biggest one of all is that, we are not shy in the bedroom and allow ourselves to evolve and escape in the moment of passion.  We are not afraid to take control nor do we take control off them.  We are fun spontaneous cheeky and go with the flow.   Oh and let’s not forget, we are not clingy nor jealous.  Having said all that, as a COUGAR I find the same with the younger boys, hence why we seem to attract each other.  And yes had the craziest sex with my muscly gorgeous 25 year old stripper guy who new exactly which buttons to push and how to push them.  The passion was taken everywhere from the dining table, coffee table, kitchen bench tops, the staircase, the lounge room floor through to the bed and finally in the shower.  What I love the most about young muscly guys is that they can lift me up with no effort or struggle and pull me in without me holding on.   His stamina, energy and craziness of just devouring me in every which way, just keeps bringing back those tingles.

COUGAR DIARY

“There is nothing more exhilarating than having the freedom, the experience and the love of life behind you which allows you ‘with no hesitation’ of stepping into unknown chartered adventurous waters.  A four day trip to the gold coast was just that.

Yes I am known as a social butterfly who likes to party long and hard, but when you are in unknown territory something quite different and exciting comes over you…. the thrill of meeting new gorgeous people.  In fact, you meet new gorgeous yummy fun young guys.   On this particular night, I was in a popular gold coast nite club.  Everyone was so friendly and partying like there was no tomorrow.  I met an awesome young with ‘not a care in the world’ kinda 22 year old guy.  We danced, laughed and had so much fun in the club with him and his friends.  He was very funny and made me laugh with his quirky comments and personality.   We all took the party back to his penthouse.  We disappeared into the bedroom.   I have never had so much fun and have never laughed so much with a guy in the bedroom.   Allowing yourself to laugh and make crazy passionate love at the same time to someone is an experience I’ll never forget.   He also told me he had never been with an ‘older’ woman before, and kept repeating now I know what all the hype is all about.  He kept wowing throughout our moments together.  Let me add he was quite a pocket rocket with so much vroom in him I didn’t want to leave.  A gorgeous guy who now has become a friend for life….just in another state.

Today, I have a guest writer for you who is sharing some simple yet effective tips for the younger man to attract a cougar woman.

1. Don’t be Afraid to Ask

If you are unsure about whether an older woman may be interested in dating a younger man – try a polite, harmless but very obvious flirt. At the very worse, the likelihood is she will be really flattered by the attention. With any luck, you may find it more successful than you ever imagined it could be.

2. Chose your Location

Try and socialise in bars and clubs where there is a mixed crowd in terms of age.

Then you will feel more at ease and still have plenty of opportunity of meeting the cougar of your dreams. Trendy bars that are only populated by 20-something hipsters may put her off.

3. Advertise Yourself

There are sites out there that cater for cougars and cubs – join one. Make sure you include a flattering but recognisable photo and add some details that outline your interests and personality. Come across as a genuine, honest and likeable guy and you will have the cougars queuing up.

4. Underplay the Age Gap

Never make a big issue about the age gap. It is probably not something she wants to be reminded of too often, so leave that subject well alone and concentrate on the things you do have in common.

5. Be Willing to Learn

An older woman may well have a good deal of experience in the bedroom and know exactly what she likes. There is no harm in asking for directions – she may want you to take the lead but then again she may have so much more attracted to you, if you can demonstrate that you are really interested in her needs.

6. Return the Compliment

She could well be thrilled to have a fit, younger man and let you know it. Do remember to repay any compliments – the hotter she feels the better it is for both of you. Also, do be sensitive to the fact she might need a little extra reassurance.

7. Show Some Sophistication

A cougar can be attracted to younger men but may not love all the habits that might come with them. Show your best side – grubby sweatpants and scruffy t-shirts may be a turn-off to a classy cougar. Designer suits aren’t necessary but do make sure you look good and smell great – a sexy, sophisticated, older woman may not be prepared to slum it!

How do you Woo Cougars?  The answer may depend on how you make your demands.

A staggering number of younger men are using social media networks like face book, twitter and online cougar dating sites in a bid to hook up with cougar women and for 90% of these younger men it just isn’t working and they go from one place to another in search of what alludes them – the cougar woman.

This is a classic case of not knowing how to approach cougar women.  What I mean is that it’s all in the way you make your demands.  Sure it’s easy to put yourself out there and make new friends, but when it comes to actually interacting in a way that’s appealing to cougar women, or any woman for that matter, it’s a completely different ball game.

There are two kinds of ways people communicate.  Your either an Asker – like that annoying acquaintance, who has no problem in requesting things – first dates, promotions, pay rises, a discount on that highly overpriced pair of shoes… even if they know that their answer will be a big fat “NO”.  A Guesser on the other hand, takes a more circuitous route – not often making their request unless their absolutely sure that they’re going to get a yes.  And here’s the clincher, by thinking that they’re stealth enough, they can wend their way through the situation in a way that actually works in their favor and offers will be made before they even have to,  you know… ask.   To put it simply, you either ask or you coerce by way of suggestion.

The trouble is that Askers and Guessers are both running into problems when it comes to approaching cougar women.  When an Asker can prompt discussion when it hits at the heart of a cougars day to day interactions, on a deeply understandable level, she responds to him. But when his demands are more like a loaded gun, a cougar woman is sure to reject him.

Guessers can run the gammut from coy remarks to that of a more passive aggressive way to say everything about what you want without saying anything at all.  Either way it’s a recipe for frustration.  And it ruins things with cougar women, as they are being forced by younger men with poor social skills to interact and navigate their way through a minefield of awkward discussions.

The reality of course is that Askers and Guessers need to move fluidly through attracting a cougar women with their opening line into comfortably conversing with cougar women.  After all, the dynamics of everyday interactions demands it.  Askers have to amend their usual knock-em-out cold approach with some behavioral nuance, and Guessers must work at being crystal-clear.  The stakes are high, and the trick is in learning how to read cougar women, as well as the situations that they present to you.

CUBS… WHO’S SEXY NOW!

Australian women think that men with facial hair are sexy and that it gives them the edge in the attractiveness stakes.

A study conducted by Schick Men’s Razors and Jigsaw Strategic Research found that 6 in 10 women agreed that men with facial hair have much more sex appeal than their cleaner cut counter parts, showing that women of today will put up with the occasional pash-rash in return for a sexier looking guy.

And a  staggering 75% of men have also declared to sporting facial hair makes them ‘feel’ more attractive to women, with 76% confessing they feel more interesting with well-groomed facial hair, whilst 68% going as far as saying that they think their chin rug gives them more personality!

Maybe considering that 6 in 10 Australian women consider that men with facial hair are more individualistic, stylish and adventurous, and proving that a little effort in the well-manicured facial hair arena goes a long way.
