YOUNGER men are a turn-on for Aussie women, with many revealing in a new survey that even a 10-year age gap wouldn’t stop them from dating a guy.
When quizzed by Prevention magazine, 55 per cent of women said they had dated a younger man.
And some believe their own older age may even may be helping them in the love department.
Of the 1100-odd respondents, aged between 40 and 65, one quarter said they felt more sexually confident now than 20 years ago.
Sixty one per cent believed the image of the cougar (a woman dating a younger man) is harmless, while 10 per cent embraced it.
And not even a decade’s difference was a turn off for 40 per cent, who said they’d go out with a beau 10 years their junior.
Slightly more – 60 per cent – preferred a five-year age gap.

BANNED COUGAR COMMERCIAL GONE VIRAL!
More and more people are viewing on the web the ad from air New Zealand, to advertise their grabaseat deals, that had to be banned from the air due to people’s complaints about the use of the term cougar. Rape Prevention Education director Kim McGregor told the NZ Herald the ad was objectionable on several levels and that some Air New Zealand staff were concerned about the promotion.
“They find it degrading and that it is encouraging potentially harmful behavior.”

YOUNGER MEN WATCH OUT… THE COUGARS ARE OUT!
The trend that has sparked a hit television show and empowered older women to take control of their sexuality will culminate in the crowning of Miss (or should that be Ms?) NSW Cougar.
Glamorous 40-something Courteney Cox – star of the new show Cougar Town – is the international face of a craze that is sweeping the state.
‘Women have been chasing older, rich men for years thinking they will find love. But they should be going for younger men,” Cougar Convention organiser Rich Gosse said.
“Younger men like older women because they can learn from them.
“Cougars have life experience, are sexual, want fun and can train cubs.”
About 27 per cent of women between 40 and 54 in Australia are single. In 1986, only 19 per cent were single.
Social commentator Bernard Salt said cougars have occurred as women have become empowered.
